RE: TV reception...

Since you said that there were no trees around, I am assuming OTA reception. When installing two identical OTA digital converter boxes in two RV's parked beside each other in an open field, one got over 30 channels and the other 5 or 6. Emailed Winegard support with the problem. After troubleshooting what they asked, they suggested that I send the antenna to them where they diagnosed a problem with the amplifier in the antenna head. Got a new batwing from them for $35 and reinstalled the digital box. The RV had moved to a new location, but found about 30 channels in the new location. I suggest that you send Winegard an email with the antenna model etc and let them help you diagnose the problem. Paul

RE: Massachusetts RV Insurance

I am also looking, but since I don't want to switch mid term, not very hard. A great winter project. In the past few weeks I have made a couple of calls, Liberty Mutual for one, to be told that they would be happy to give me a quote on my motorhome as long as they got the automobiles also. I still don't have a good handle on which insurance companys are now doing business in MA. In the past, I have made a lot of calls based on insurance ads on TV to be told that MA is one of two states they do not do business in. I guess the ads were for the states that border MA. I have the motorhome with Commerce Insurance. If you find a good one, please post it. Paul

RE: Help Needed with Pressure Relief Valve Problem

I have also seen many hot water tanks without an air pocket leak through the relief valve, but in this case the relief valve was replaced twice. Unless the tank was not drained either time to replace the valve, draining the tank should have regenerated the air pocket. Draining the tank is certainly worth a try though. Being such a common solution to the problem, you would have thought the tech would have tried that. Paul

RE: Help Needed with Pressure Relief Valve Problem

I am surprised that the tech did not check the pressure the pump is generating. It could be a bad pump. What happens when you are hooked up to city water without the pump on? Paul

RE: Baltimore tunnels--restrictions?

No propane in containers larger than 10 pounds. No vehicles taller than 13' 6" or wider than 96 inches. Restrictions are in the last paragraph on the webpage. "Vehicles carrying bottled propane gas in excess of 10 pounds per container (maximum of 10 containers), bulk gasoline, explosives, significant amounts of radioactive materials, and other hazardous materials are prohibited from using both the Fort McHenry and Baltimore Harbor Tunnels. In addition, vehicles in excess of 13 feet, 6 inches, in height, or 96 inches (8 feet) in width; and all double trailers are prohibited from using the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel. Vehicles carrying Class 1 explosives and radioactive materials require an escort at the Francis Scott Key Bridge. For additional information regarding these restrictions, please call 410-537-1374. RE: RV parks in Florida

Quote: Lake San Marino Resort in Naples, Fl have recently sent me emails with fantastic deals for smaller RV's. Lake San Marino Resort is part of Sun Communities, Inc. It's a fairly nice park. Yes, they do have very good deals for class C's during their season. However.....when making a reservation at this park, make sure that you are not near the cement factory (in the back of the park) It runs 24/7.....ALL NIGHT LONG !!! and is LOUD!! Thank you ginabas, I called Lake San Marino this morning and spoke to the manager, Susan Jackson. She said that the cement plant is in the process of closing down, so there is "no noise anymore". If there is, I won't be there 10 minutes. Paul

RE: Camp Fire In A Can / Propane Version

I have used our Campfire-in-a-Can propane several times with no problems. It sets up very quickly, has a variable flame (very low to very high) and does throw some heat. Since it is fairly small compared to some others I have seen, it stores very well. I do not know how much propane it uses. I have been carrying two tanks (10lb for the grill and a 20lb for the campfire), but have switched back and forth between the two. Since I have not used the others, I cannot compare the Campfire-in-a-Can to them. I hope this helps. Paul

RE: Family Oriented Campground - NOT!

I agree that it is important to read the cancellation policy before booking, BUT the link from the bottom of Drummer Boy Camping Resorts reservation page; "* Please confirm that you have read and agree to abide by the reservation, cancellation and refund policies which are outlined below. ** No refunds on golf carts. Resort Rules & Regulations Reservation & Cancellation Policies I agree" gives you this "Not Found The requested URL /policy.HTML was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." The link (http://www.drummerboycampresort.com/rules.html) on the Reservation page should be (http://bsquarewebhosting.com/~drummerb/index.php?pr=Reservation_Policy) as they have as a footer on the Rates page. This is the way it has been since I read the original post days ago, so it is possible the OP tried to read the refund policy and couldn't. JMHO

RE: We are going to Boston

Hi This is a link to a post that I made in July 2006. I have not check the links since then. As I stated in the post, start with the Duck Tour. I would make reservations well in an advance. I know I missed a few locations, so hopefully others can fill them in. Enjoy Paul PS I tried copying it and the post was rejected.
